Series of 2005-2006 Department Order No. 4 Headquarters Department of Maryland October 22, 2005 Whereas the Department of Maryland’s Camps and Brothers rose to the challenge presented to them last year in Department Order No. 8 series 2004-2005 by donating a total of $750.00 to the SUVCW Foundation: And Whereas the charity displayed by these Camps and Brothers should be encouraged to continue and be expanded: I therefore announce the following challenge for this year: I encourage the Camps to chose a Civil War related charity in the area their camp exists. I will match dollar for dollar donations to eligible 501c3 groups up to a total of $125.00 per group and the total requests will not exceed $250.00 per camp (More than one request for different groups). All donations up to a total of $1000.00 will be matched and donations distributed at the 2006 Department Encampment. In order for your camps request to be honored there must be a registered delegate present at the 2006 Maryland Department Encampment. All requests must be submitted to the Department Commander with the following documentation. A letter of request, a copy of the camp or brother’s donation, a copy of the receiving organizations IRS 501c3 letter. Incomplete requests will be returned.
