Department Order No. 6
Headquarters
Department of Maryland: April 9, 2006
Whereas the use of the
Internet has continued to expand and
change the way we operate.
And Whereas, the proper use
of said Internet has been shown to pay
significant dividends.
And Whereas, all camps
within the Maryland Department should
have at least basic web presence that is
linked to the Department web site.
And Whereas, those camps
that do have a web presence should update
them regularly.
Now therefore I, James R.
Hanby, Sr. Commander of the Maryland
Department Sons of Union Veterans of the
Civil War do hereby request that all
camps take steps to create at least a
basic web presence including the current
officers of the camp, meeting dates, and
other pertinent information. I further
order that all camps currently having a
web presence review their sites and
update them with the current information
within a period of two weeks or advise
the Department Commander as to why their
site should not be deleted from the
listing on the Department web site.
In Fraternity,
Charity, and Loyalty,
James R. Hanby,
Sr., Maryland Department Commander
